FLOODLIGHT PICTURES
An independent film production company founded by Academy Award®, BAFTA and IFTA winners Tom Berkeley and Ross White.
Floodlight Pictures was founded in 2020 by co-writer/director partnership Tom Berkeley and Ross White. Our inaugural project, ROY, starring BAFTA and Olivier Award winner David Bradley opposite Academy Award® winner Rachel Shenton, played at over 50 international film festivals before going on to become one of ten films longlisted for Best British Short at the 75th BAFTA Awards.
In late 2021, we completed our second short film, AN IRISH GOODBYE, a black comedy set in rural Northern Ireland starring Seamus O’Hara, James Martin, Paddy Jenkins and Michelle Fairley. Having played at over 60 international film festivals worldwide, the film went on to win the 2023 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short, BAFTA award for Best British Short Film, and the IFTA Award for Best Short Film.
Our third project, THE GOLDEN WEST, began its festival release in July 2023 with an international premiere at the 50th annual Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, USA. Set in 1849, The Golden West tells the story of two warring sisters who flee the Famine in Ireland to seek their fortunes in the gold rush.
